Reading Works is a fully interactive program designed to help average to high IQ, low reading ability students to achieve and see that reading really can "work" for them.

It is also an excellent resource for all students who are developing their reading acquisition skills.

The five levels of the program are carefully structured according to reading age and interest age. (For example, Level 3 is based on a reading age of 6-10 years and an interest age of 10-12 years.)

There are 560 graded passages by Australian authors, covering 8 topic areas such as Discoveries, Mysteries and Sport. Each passage has a controlled number of words and reading-ability grading, and can be printed for reference away from the computer.

Placement exercises assess students' reading ability, automatically guiding them to the most appropriate starting point within the program.

Reading Words includes pre-reading "eye warm-up" activities, high frequency flash card drill and comprehension exercises. All results are measured, timed and recorded, including reading speed and unfamiliar words.

The program design allows students to word effectively at their own pace. It tracks individual performance and enables progress based on reading results. Non-readers are supported with easy access to voice-over assistance if needed.

School Version Resources

The school edition also includes advanced reporting and customization features, and the ability to allocate students to teacher names or class groups.

Reading words is also an efficient way to provide suitable reading material for all students of any age and ability.
