EyeSpeak English for Schools and Teachers. School Version - English as a second language softwareSchool Version for Teachers

At last! A teaching resource that does what it says, and even more.

EyeSpeak English is a user-friendly and smart software package built around the ideas of cost-efficiency and better time management.

Words, sentences and conversational role plays are introduced in a logical teaching format. EyeSpeak uses special visual feedback that allows you to clearly see what you are saying. You no longer need to guess what you have said!

Listen, Speak and Learn through Eyespeak's visual feedback helping you develop the language skills needed for everyday English communication.

Lesson Plans and Easy User Guide

Pronouncing English by EyeSpeak suggests individual lesson plans according to the students' level and pronunciation problems. These individual lesson plans can easily be amended by teachers if necessary. To use this program to its full potential, teachers do not need any particular training.

The user guide and the detailed Online User Manual enable teachers to know EyeSpeak inside out very quickly.

Various Levels of Difficulty

Teachers determine the difficulty level of each phoneme that students have to pronounce. This difficulty level is adapted to each individual student to suit their needs more closely. During practice time, teachers can change the difficulty level of each student if they see that some progress quicker than the rest of the class.

Monitor Progress of yourself or your students with the User Profile - Pronouncing English by Eyespeak for English as a second language students and teachers.Monitor Progress

Teachers also have the possibility to decide how many times students should repeat a phoneme before moving on to the next. Teachers are therefore able to individually monitor and follow up on each student's progress. Quick learners have the opportunity to improve rapidly while slower students can also spend valuable time practicing.

EyeSpeak enables teachers to manage their time more efficiently with their students. Each student is in a position to reach the desired level faster without holding the class back. This situation therefore allows for more students to be successfully taught at once.

Students clearly see their progress, which encourages them to perform even more. Teachers can also monitor the length of time spent studying with EyeSpeak.

The number of sessions done by students, as well as the exercises practiced and the time spent on each exercise, are recorded by EyeSpeak for further teacher's reference. Teachers can use these data to refine their lesson plans or write students' reports at the end of term.

Pronouncing English by Eyespeak - English as a second language pronunciation and speaking skills.Feedback and Performance

EyeSpeak is an innovative and interactive software that keeps a student's interest to a high level by using different methods of learning and giving students immediate, personalised and accurate feedback. No other software currently does it.

Feedback is provided from four different sources that complement each other very well:

  • EyeSpeak provides visual feedback to students, based on their own performance. This feedback is shown with a colourful graph where all the phonemes pronounced by the student are plotted. The student's graph is plotted against the teacher's so that the student can check how well they performed. The teacher's correct pronunciation appears in a different colour so the student clearly sees what phoneme is wrong and how to improve.
  • A picture of the student's mouth shows them how they positioned their tongue when they said the word. Students can compare their picture with that of their tutor to see how their tongue should have been positioned.
  • Brief and clear sentences also tell students how they should move their tongue in their mouth to reach the right position and pronounce the phoneme properly. The use of widely known phonetic symbols makes it easier for teachers to point out pronunciation problems and for students to learn the correct pronunciation, though it is not essential to know these symbols to dramatically improve pronunciation.
  • A progress tracking tab shows how well students performed by giving a success rate based on each pronunciation attempt and on the overall pronunciation exercise. This written track record is a percentage which students can easily identify with to gauge their level and progress. Teachers can also use this written track record for their own record on each student's progress.

Variety of Exercises

  • Students can choose among a variety of exercises to improve their English pronunciation. They can learn minimal pairs or more complex words.
  • Students can check the spelling or meaning of the words by using the picture dictionary.
  • Students can also train their hearing with the playback option where they can listen and compare their pronunciation with that of their tutor's.
  • Students can also develop their listening skills by doing tests where they have to identify and spell random words pronounced by their tutor.
  • Students with problem sounds can practice them in personal study time or at home without holding the rest of the class back and feeling embarrassed and frustrated. Teacher's time can then be shared more equally between all class students.
